Every year the Debating Society holds a Schools debating competition in the Autumn term in one of the UK’s best-connected cities, thanks to its extensive road and rail links. It is perfect practice to engage new debaters and help prepare debaters for later competitions, such as Oxford and Cambridge. The competition is open to pupils of all ages.
This competition is not only a great opportunity for school children to experience the Unversity of Birmingham and learn what a debating competition is like. It is also a great opportunity for those who want to judge and give back to the community if it is their first time judging or their fiftieth.
